Cruse Scanner:
Abbey Walmsley Fine Art utilises the UK's largest and most sophisticated flatbed scanner – The Cruse Scanner. Operated by a museum trained craftsman with the experience to handle delicate originals, the Cruse Scanner reveals stunning trueness and accuracy in both colour and dimension.
Capturing the 3D qualities of the original Artworks Using syncron light modes
The lamp passes over the original only once as it is scanned so any light exposure is at a minimum. The Cruse Scanners special lighting mode captures the appearance of each brush stroke and fine detail in textures and oils giving remarkably realistic depth and sense of feel to the original artwork. The advanced colour managed profiled system ensures that colours are matched to the original artwork with truely impressive accuracy.

These images illustrate part of the original oil painting ‘Intent on Lunch.’ Shown left is the area of water spray behind the salmon’s dorsal fin.
The lower right image is a close-up of the top of the salmon’s dorsal fin, illustrating the amazing three-dimensional clarity and quality produced by the Cruse Scanner

Canvas Prints - Epson Archival Inks
Abbey Walmsley Fine Art uses Epson Archival Inks. The ink is pigmented ink combined with Epson MicroCrystal Encapsulation Technology. This allows the ink to carry a high lightfastness for over 100yrs, to be extremely stable and waterfast. Each pigment crystal is encapsulated in resin, this gives the ink greater colour gamut (that rivals dye-based inks), with even distribution on the surface of the media, anda higher gloss and smoother image appearance. These unique attributes combine to create an Archival Quality print of enduring quality and beauty.
Canvas Prints - Epson Stylus Pro 9800
Abbey Walmsley Fine Art uses the Epson Stylus Pro 9800 wide format printer. With its Micro Piezo drop-on-demand inkjet technology it ensures that each print is identical to the last in quality and colouration, using its print head configuration with 180 nozzles and 8 colours. The printer prints at a resolution of 2880 x 1440dpi using Epson Variable-sized Technology.
Epson Canvas
Abbey Walmsley Fine Art uses PremierArt™ Canvas to produce the finest archival quality reproductions.. It has a unique durable heavyweight quality that makes it ideal for fine art reproductions. It is pliable enough to withstand stretching for framing without sagging, and displays a subtle texture for a true artistic look and feel.
Paper Prints – Durst Lambda
Since 1936, Durst has been at the forefront of the design and manufacture with its award winning innovative systems for the reproduction of high quality images. Abbey Walmsley Fine Art chose to use Lambda™. The Lambda™ is a laser-based, large-format output device for high-resolution printing of images on photosensitive media. The Durst Lambda has opened up a new dimension in large-format imaging technology and is the benchmark with regard to image quality.
The original artworks are supported by perfect reproduction technology, whether in colour or black and white.
Paper Prints - Kodak Professional - Ultra Endura Paper
Abbey Walmsley Fine art wanted to offer its print collectors extraordinary colour quality, that represents the colour of the original artworks accurately, consistantly and that would complement the three- dimensional image quality produced by the Cruse Scanner. We looked for a media that offered state of the art image stability of at least 100years and married well with the Durst Lambda process. Kodak Professional - Ultra Endura Paper became the media of choice.
